The Story

1942

The history of Marcafè began in 1942 with an idea conceived by Silvestro , a man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for his work, who owned a food wholesaler in Teramo.

1955

In order to meet customers' needs, he decided to install a coffee roasting machine in the store; the idea was extremely popular and recognized as a real success.

Over time, the coffee roasting business grew, and management passed to Silvestro sons, Vittorio and Francesco. Francesco, in particular, drove the company’s expansion and moved it to its new location in the Villa Pavone area.

1960

Thanks to the innate talent for art and the unquestionable creativity of Giuliana Marcozzi, Francesco's daughter, the inspirational sketch of the Marcafè brand is conceived and realized.

 

1980

Later, at the end of the 1980s, the management of the company passed into the hands of Vittorio, who ensured new balances and who, in order to make the presence in the area more widespread, directed his attention and commitment to bars and restaurants.

 

1998

In the late 1990s, the founder’s nephews, brothers Silvestro Emilio, joined the company with a business vision centered on innovation, sustainability, and international expansion. 

They move the business to the prestigious headquarters in Giulianova, a facility designed as a prime location for the development of such requirements.

2007

In addition to completely renovating roasting and production machinery, they set themselves an arduous goal: to select the best Arabica and robusta coffees, to create fine blends for export to spread the culture and excellence of Italian espresso.

2010

That challenge became a reality, and thanks to the research, expertise and experience gained over the years, today Marcafè is a brand known and appreciated in as many as 25 countries around the world.

2012

To popularize coffee culture and impart specific knowledge and skills, Coffee Academy, a course designed for coffee amateurs and professionals, was born.

Through the SCA-certified international training program.

2024

Marcafè represents the story of a company that for eighty years has pursued a policy based on passion for work, product quality and love for the area in which it operates.

2025

The fourth generation joined the previous one with the entry of Vittorio and Martina Marcozzi.
Vittorio leads the renewal of marketing and communication, while Martina continues, together with her father Emilio, the development of foreign markets and export. A generational transition that brings energy and vision while staying true to the family roots.
